Investing
Back in september 2000 I started investing small amounts of money in the stock markets. One of the golden rules is: don't invest with money you really need (or: only invest with money you don't really need).
I bought the Flemish book 'Winnen met aandelen' (freely translated as 'gain with shares') by Roland Van der Elst, participated in an investment competition, and after that the real work started..
By now I have sufficient experience to disagree with some of the rules in the book. The writer claims that the moment you start investing is not important, as long as you invest a fixed amount regularly. My gut feeling is more that the moment you start IS VERY important. I was immediately confronted with the 'internet bubble', and had to work hard for many years to recover from that.
I also wrote a computer program to support my view on investing, and help me select the best shares (a mini moneytron ;-) ). One of these days I plan to put my programs online, I have three of them by now!
